Set Photo For Venom 2 Teases Possible MCU Connection
One of the criticisms that was leveled against the first Venom movie was the film’s exclusion of Spider-Man. The symbiote has traditionally always been linked to Spidey in the comics.
New set photos may change that and offer a reason why along with a possible connection to the MCU. A poster from the Daily Bugle attached to a bus asks the question, “Where is Spider-Man?”
It is possible that it is continuity to the last film Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Peter Parker was apparently framed for the murder of the character Mysterio. In the film, his secret identity was also revealed by J. Jonah Jameson, so it is possible that Peter Parker has gone into hiding.
This would be the second reference to the webslinger in Sony’s Spiderverse. The trailer for Morbius included an Easter Egg as well, showing a mural on the wall with Spidey with graffiti painted over it proclaiming him a murderer.
We will have to wait and see how deep the MCU connections are when Sony’s films begin to release.
