Coronavirus Now Expected to Cost Film Industry $20 Billion

With several major production studios shutting down operations for the foreseeable future, we are getting a clearer picture to how the pandemic is affecting the entertainment industry.

Many big U.S. theater chains have already made the decision to close their movie houses with theaters already shuttered in Asia and Europe.

Some distributors have taken the extraordinary step to release films on video on demand services such as iTunes and FandangoNow. Some of them are still in theaters like Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot, which released on March 13th.

Here’s hoping that the steps being taken currently by our officials will stunt the spread of the virus so that we can try and get back to some sense of normalcy, not only with our entertainment choices but with our lives period.
