Taika Waititi Is Directing Not One, But Two Animated Roald Dahl Adaptations For Netflix
Netflix has confirmed on their UK Twitter account that the two projects Waititi will be writing and directing are as follows – a straight-up adaptation of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and one that is “a wholly original take on the Oompa-Loompas”.
They are being billed as “animated series events” rather than films.
It also seems that Netflix is all in on Dahl adaptations. The tweet continues, “These two series are just the beginning – Matilda, The BFG, The Twits, and many other beloved Dahl stories are set to follow soon!”
No timeline was provided for Waititi’s projects.
