New Star Wars Comic Reveals Luke Skywalker Wielding A Yellow-Bladed Lightsaber; Here’s The Reason Why
Marvel’s run on Star Wars has been surprising of late, revealing that a hooded figure caught Luke’s lightsaber in Cloud City after Luke loses it (and his hand) in Empire Strikes Back. We still don’t know who that is, but it should tie into how Maz Kanata had the saber in her possession in Force Awakens.
Now, we have the reveal that Luke used a yellow bladed lightsaber BEFORE he built the green blade we see in Return of the Jedi. While it does seem to tie into the end of The Rise of Skywalker (Rey’s blade), the real reason is more nefarious than that.
Apparently, it is writer Charles Soule’s homage to the first 1978 Vintage Star Wars 3.75” Luke Skywalker figure, which first featured a yellow blade (toys after featured the correct color).
