Jake Lloyd, the actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the Phantom Menace, has struggled with mental illness for a number of years and the family has provided a recent update as seen in the photo.
Unfortunately, he has been a target of the ugly side of Star Wars fandom. Lloyd would officially retire from acting in 2001, later claiming this was due to the bullying he had endured at school over his role in the movie.
We wish him the best and hope that he makes positive progress going forward.
